The Scottish Internet singing sensation Susan Boyle has been admitted to a London clinic. Officials of a hugely popular British talent TV show say she is emotionally drained.48-year-old Susan Boyle last month became an overnight success with her stunning performance of “I Dreamed a Dream” on the television series “Britain’s Got Talent.” Within days, Boyle, who lives alone with her cat, was headline news around the world. On the Internet her performance has been downloaded nearly 200 million times. She was invited to appear on the Oprah Winfrey and Larry King shows in America, while tabloid newspapers tracked her every move. Saturday night, people in her hometown of Blackburn in Scotland watched the finale anxiously, expecting the unlikely celebrity to win. But after her shock defeat by dance troupe “Diversity”, the singer was admitted to a clinic in London that treats people with mental health problems. Britain’s Got Talent’ judge Piers Morgan says Susan Boyle’s performance on Saturday was nothing short of miraculous, but that the experience has left her emotionally drained. Boyle’s brother Gerry Boyle, says his sister is feeling better. Speaking from his home, Boyle, says he could not say for certain when his sister would leave the clinic, but he does expect it to be in the next couple of days.
